The 19th Annual Houston Firefighters Charity Golf Classic to be held May 19 at Pine Forest Country Club. The proceeds for this tournament go directly to the Houston Firefighters Protection Fund (HFPF). Since 2006, the HFPF has provided financial assistance to members of HFD in their time great emotional and fiscal distress. The HFPF was initially created to assist with emergency medical costs and since the start, tens of thousands of dollars have gone straight to the firefighters to provide the immediate help they need. During the pandemic, the HFPF has been dispensing financial aid at a record pace to help our firefighters as they recovery from the effects of covid and other illnesses and injuries. Since inception, the scope of support provided by the HFPF has been expanded to include prolonged medical rehabilitation and emergency home damage.
